Our recovered voices
A collection presenting the recordings of the most charismatic
voices of our lyric theatre during the first half of the twentieth century. In
C.D. form, it reproduces recordings remastered from 78 r.p.m. original records
by means of a technical process whereby accumulated noises and distortions are
eliminated while respecting the original sound. The final result depends on the
upkeep condition of each one of the 78 r.p.m., records. In the monographic numbers,
a chronological criterium has been followed giving priority to the period of the
recordings. This provides a better idea of the singer's evolution through his/her
career. As to the selections, the most representative works in the repertoire
have been selected, seeking coincidences between one or several singers referred
to. It is thus possible to enjoy different examples of their art while respecting,
with a musicological and historical criterium, the way in which complete recordings
of these masterpieces were conceived at that time.
